LeGarrette Blount signs with Detroit Lions

BC-FBN-Lions-Free Agency, 1st Ld-Writethru, 174 Lions sign RB LeGarrette Blount and re-sign RB Zach ZennerEds: Updates with Blount signing.

LeGarrette Blount #29 of the Philadelphia Eagles reacts after his 21-yard touchdown reception during the second quarter against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII at U.S. Bank Stadium on February 4, 2018 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He previously played for the New England Patriots, who used to employ Detroit general manager Bob Quin and coach Matt Patricia.

The Detroit Lions' search for a new starting running back seems to be finally over.

LeGarrette Blount has agreed to a one-year deal with Detroit for $4.5 million, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.

Following the sale, the director now directly owns 94,801 shares of the company's stock, valued at approximately $8,989,978.83. Brave Asset Management Inc increased Ishares Tr (PFF) stake by 67,371 shares to 400,049 valued at $15.53 million in 2017Q3.

Blount could boast a gaudy touchdown total during free agency past year after finding the end zone 18 times in 2016 but he had just a 3.9 yards per carry average.

The Lions haven't had a rusher earn 100 yards in a single game since Reggie Bush in 2013 and had a running game that ranked 32nd in the National Football League last season. - here's hoping Blount is the one to break that curse. The 6-foot, 250 pound bruiser back surprised everyone rushing for 1,007 yards and six scores as a rookie.

"I think our running backs, you know, they didn't perform as good as everyone thought", Quinn said about his running backs in January. "Every year there's about 30 percent turnover on teams, so you're never going to have the same team year to year". However, Detroit could still opt to add another back in the draft next month.
