Modern Warfare 2 Is Reportedly Being Remastered

As spotted by IGN Italia, listings for both Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game have been added to Amazon Italy, with prices of €19.99 (approximately $25 United States dollars / £17 / $31 AUD / R295 ZAR).

Amazon Italy has posted a listing for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered with a price point and release date.

Also of note, Modern Warfare 2 Remastered only has a €19.99 price tag. What's really surprising about this listing, though, is that it suggests that this remaster will be released on April 30.

It wasn't available as a standalone title until later. Modern Warfare 2 is considered a high water mark for the series, so when the original Modern Warfare Remastered was announced, it was a safe assumption that Modern Warfare 2 would someday get the same treatment. Nearly certainly not, but we wouldn't be surprised to see it surface in some capacity later this year. Controversially, Modern Warfare Remastered was only available as a bonus for folks who bought the deluxe edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for nearly a year before it was finally released on its own. Its multiplayer was incredibly successful, its campaign drew quite a bit of controversy over the "No Russian" level, and the game ultimately earned a staggering $1 billion in sales.
