Joe Gomez: 'Mohamed Salah impact at Liverpool indescribable'

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said Mohamed Salah was "on his way" to being mentioned in the same breath as Lionel Messi after he scored four goals against Watford on Saturday.

In less than hospitable conditions as swirling snow and a freezing wind blew through the stadium, the Liverpool fans at least had Salah to warm their spirits as he took his tally for an awesome debut season at Liverpool to 34 in all competitions.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp suggested after the Watford win Egypt global Salah is on the way to being compared with five-time world player of the year Lionel Messi.

"I don't think Mo wants to be compared with Lionel Messi", he said.

"It's just about defending well as a team because you know you will create chances". Third goal, fantastic situation, Mo and then Roberto.

"He gave us a good four goals".

"I think that's why you're seeing success with Manchester City and Liverpool because they are humble", McMahon added.

Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka to reach T20 tri-series final
Sent in to bat, Bangladesh had a good start but lost three wickets in ten balls to be reduced to 33/3 after five overs. Their wayward final overs could have cost them the title if not for Karthik's sensational innings.

"Also I think you've got to go out to him quicker, don't let him build up a pace to turn you inside out at that pace". "The boys love playing together with him".

The Reds broke the deadlock after just four minutes when Salah showed some good skill before firing past Orestis Karnezis.

"We had to cope and deal with hard conditions tonight".

The Egyptian flyer has taken the English game by storm since arriving at Liverpool from Italian side Roma, scoring 32 goals in all competitions and blowing defences away with his blistering speed and nearly untrackable movement.

Salah exchanged passes with Sadio Mane before chasing down the ball in the penalty area and setting off on one of those driving, jinking runs which inevitably leaves defenders on their behinds. "We have to hope they all come back well from the internationals". "That is really special".

Roma's sporting director Monchi joked: "You can't say we were very lucky with this draw".

"We know we were playing against one of the best teams in Europe at this moment and they were much better than us.

That's good", Klopp said.
