Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Opens Up About His Struggles With Depression

Dwayne

Megastar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has had bouts of depression during his life. "I was crying constantly", he said.

He said he was able to pull her from the highway but then sunk into several years of depression that were made more hard by injuries that halted his would-be football career and a breakup with a girlfriend. Not long after, Johnson's girlfriend left him.

He revealed that Ata was in such a bad state of mind at the time that she doesn't even recall trying to take her own life.

Johnson says his mother got out of their vehicle on the interstate and attempted to walk into oncoming traffic.

"I grabbed her and pulled her back on the gravel shoulder of the road".

Johnson told the United Kingdom outlet that he witnessed his mother's suicide attempt when he was just 15 years old.

"Big rigs and cars were swerving out the way".

Johnson, 45, whose new sci-fi monster film Rampage hits United Kingdom cinemas this month, is said to be worth £156million after two successive years as America's best-paid actor.

Chinese couple finds their lost daughter after 24 years
On Sunday, the DNA test results confirmed that Kang was in fact Wang Qifeng, the daughter who went missing 24 years ago. She had been raised by adoptive parents in a nearby town just 20km (12 miles) away, Chinese media reported.

And Dwayne - who has Jasmine, two, with Lauren and Simone, 16, from a previous relationship - was the subject of an April Fool's joke from his partner Lauren - but he later revealed he was actually playing a joke on the show's audience. If you've ever dealt with depression or anxiety, you've probably had people tell you to get over it, or that it isn't as bad as you make it seem, or better yet, just pray it away.

The former wrestler previously opened up about that incident during a 2015 episode of "Oprah's Master Class" where he went into more detail.

"I reached a point where I didn't want to do a thing or go anywhere", the Fast & Furious film star said.

"We healed", Johnson stated of himself along with his mommy, "however we't must do our best to pay attention when other people today come in distress".

"What's insane about that suicide attempt is that to this day, she has no recollection of it whatsoever". National Basketball Association star Kevin Love recently penned a piece for The Players' Tribune in which he described how he suffered from depression and anxiety but always chose to keep it tight-lipped, and Toronto Raptors star DeMar DeRozan also opened up about his battles with depression.

Johnson reminded his followers to voice their struggles and help others through theirs. "You're not alone", he writes.

"Now, at my age, I understand how many people go through it", DeRozan said.
