Google Reportedly Developing Mid-Range Pixel Smartphone

The report pegs in between July and August for the launch date of this mid-range handset that the publication said would have a focus on the price-sensitive markets like India.

It looks like Google will be bringing out a more cost-efficient version of the popular Pixel and Pixel 2 smartphones in the next four months or so. The brand is also planning to increase its foothold in the offline market over a period of time.

A GizmoChina report also stated that Google Home and Google Home Mini will be available in India in April this year. The publication sourced the information from Indian retailers that took part in meetings held by Google in Malaysia, the United Kingdom and the USA last month.

On the timeline for these plans to be put into action, this very month of April 2018 will see the two home speakers being made available in the market across the country.

Other products which might eventually arrive in India include the Google WiFi router and Nest's smart doorbell, alarm system, smoke detector, and camera.

Amazon's a step ahead of Google with respect to Saavn, since its Echo devices come pre-enabled with the service. There may be other products coming to the country as well, should Google find they are having success with the Pixel phones and other devices.

The mid-range smartphone market is now dominated by Samsung, Huawei and smaller Chinese brands like Vivo, Xiaomi and OPPO.
