GTA IV Reportedly Removing In Game Songs This Month

Undoubtedly one of the most controversial, if not the most controversial video games of all time, Grand Theft Auto 5 has just become the highest grossing media title to date, amassing to $6 billion since its release in 2013.

Analyst Doug Creutz, who is the managing director and senior research analyst covering media and entertainment at Cowen, said that it's earned more than even the biggest films like Star Wars and Gone With the Wind, which earned $3 billion when adjusted for inflation.

I'm purposefully ignoring the grandstanding in the article, and focusing on the numbers, and I must say they are impressive.

The news comes at a time when many Grand Theft Auto fans will be counting down the weeks, months and days to October 2018's Red Dead Redemption 2, the next ambitious epic from "GTA" studio network Rockstar Games. "It fuels this virtuous cycle".

The Grand Theft Auto series was founded in 1997 but has made its way to the top of the video gaming industry since then.

Even when your hands are full, you can quickly send text messages, set reminders, or get directions with the Google Assistant . Both the products are exclusive to Flipkart , and they will be available across 750 offline stores in the country.

Creutz compares the game to Michael Jackson's smash album Thriller, which sold over 66 million copies, and what's more is that Rockstar's open world game has also surpassed just about everything produced by Hollywood the past 20 years in terms of earnings.

GTA V has sold over 90 million copies in its lifetime.

Grand Theft Auto IV will soon be losing a bunch of songs from its soundtrack. This was followed by a superlative PC port. Thanks to its fantastic single-player campaign and steady flow of content to its multiplayer mode, it's now made more money than any other entertainment product ever.

Second, GTA V exists as something of an anomaly among its competitors since it's likely double dipping in regards to sales.

In another odd twist, players on PS3 will be receiving messages before the removal of GTA IV's songs that will offer them codes for the songs getting the axe.
