"I'm very pleased this bipartisan bill was signed into law", he said.

"We would not be here today if it wasn't for your courage", McCarthy told survivors and activists in the room.

Founded in 1938, the National Federation of Republican Women is the largest and most influential Republican women's group in the nation, proudly representing the party that first made it possible for women to vote in the U.S. The NFRW works to increase the effectiveness and relevance of women in the cause of good government.

The law passed Congress overwhelmingly. Rob Portman, R-Ohio.

President Donald Trump signed a measure Wednesday aimed at curbing online sex trafficking, marking a rare bipartisan victory in Washington. "This is going to do to give prosecutors, the Department of Justice, state and local district attorneys the ability to go after and shut down these websites and put people behind bars, give victims the justice they deserve".

Congressman Steve Knight, R-Palmdale, co-sponsored the legislation and expressed support for its signing.

The new law paves the way for victims of sex trafficking to hold websites accountable for knowingly facilitating sex trafficking. It says, "Websites that promote and facilitate prostitution have been reckless in allowing the sale of sex trafficking victims and have done nothing to prevent the trafficking of children and victims of force, fraud, and coercion". Reddit has changed its policy "regarding paid services involving physical sexual contact" and Craigslist has closed down its personal ads section.

The law is meant to make it easier for state prosecutors and sex-trafficking victims to sue social media networks, advertisers and others that kept exploitative material on their platforms.
