Ring video doorbell is now cheaper, thanks to Amazon

Now if the name doesn't ring a bell (heh), Ring is the smart home company that focuses on smart doorbells and outdoor security cameras.

Amazon announced the completion of the deal and said that two companies will work together to accelerate Ring's mission to "reduce crime in neighbourhoods with affordable, effective home security products and services".

The celebrate the completion of acquiring connected home company Ring, Amazon is offering one heck of a deal. "The entire Ring team is excited to continue working hard to create products and services that bring real benefits to people's lives and build safer communities for all our neighbours". That said, I wouldn't be too surprised to see the company pushing toward an Alexa-based smart home hub solution to rival offerings like Apple's Home app. This firm sells battery-powered smart doorbells and security cameras. While Siminoff says Ring will stay relatively independent, maintaining its Santa Monica office, becoming a piece of Amazon's smart home play likely means deeper and deeper integrations with the company's home hardware offerings.

Researchers say some Android phone makers hide missed updates
Researcher Karsten Nohl said, "We find that there's a gap between patching claims and the actual patches installed on a device". Clearly, Google , Sony , Samsung , and the lesser-known Wiko are at the top of the list, while TCL and ZTE are at the bottom.

"We're excited about their work, their products and their mission, and look forward to teaming together to keep delighting customers". Customer reviews, 1-Click shopping, personalized recommendations, Prime, Fulfillment by Amazon, AWS, Kindle Direct Publishing, Kindle, Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Echo, and Alexa are some of the products and services pioneered by Amazon.

Today, similar to when the online retailer purchased Whole Foods, Ring has been given its first massive discount in Canada and around the world. The device has a 720p camera sensor that can record at 30fps and the video doorbell provides two-way audio.

But Ring is cheaper than some of its rivals. The aggressive pricing is a move against the recently introduced Nest Hello video doorbell.
