Former Carolina Panthers CB Daryl Worley tasered, arrested in Philadelphia

The Eagles recently put out a statement, stating they are "gathering more information". A source close to the situation confirmed an NFL Network report, which said Worley became combative with police. The source tells Action News a call came in for a vehicle blocking a highway in South Philadelphia.

Allegedly, Worley was found with a gun in his possession and police had to use a taser in order to subdue him for arrest.

We didn't like the Daryl Worley for Torrey Smith trade when it was first announced.

Worley, 23, was a third-round draft pick by the Panthers in 2016.

Worley entered a no contest plea and was given a six-month suspended sentence for an altercation with a woman outside a nightclub, when he was in college.

A Philadelphia native, Worley recorded 63 tackles and a career-high two interceptions in 14 starts for Carolina last season.

It was expected that Worley would be in the mix for a starting job in Philadelphia along with fellow corners Ronald Darby, Jalen Mills and Sidney Jones.
