I'm not against Buffon or Juventus - Del Piero responds to criticism

Buffon was sent off on his final outing in Europe's top competition after referee Michael Oliver awarded a controversial injury-time penalty, which Ronaldo dispatched.

The 40-year-old has come under fire for his post-match rant in which he called Oliver "a murderer" with "a rubbish bin" in place of a heart.

"Maybe I could even end my career with a headbutt like Zidane did".

Buffon broke his silence Sunday, however, the veteran was unremorseful for his scathing criticism of Oliver at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However footage shows that as Buffon walked off following his dismissal Madrid fans stood up and applauded what looks likely to be the Italian's 117th and final appearance in the Champions League.

"For him to give a penalty and send me off I think he must be a beast he can't be human".

Buffon went on to claim that Oliver was "too young" to officiate a Champions League semi-final.

And the Italian legend said he still believes that 33-year-old referee Oliver lacked experience.

He was clearly angry by the incident after Juventus had battled back from 3-0 down in the first-leg to level things up at the Bernabeu.

The Portugal captain also had some kind words for the Juventus goalkeeper and was quoted by the Metro saying, 'I have a lot of respect for Buffon, the words he has said about me, and what I've said about him, ' Ronaldo told RTP after the match. I felt defrauded. Not defrauded of the result, but of the night.

"Before being a Juventino, I am an Italian, and I really cared about Italian football doing well".

"It hurts to get knocked out like that but I'm proud of this team".

He added: "To be honest I think it is disgraceful, upsetting and deceptive".

He told Mediaset Premium: "It was a 10th of a penalty. a human being can not destroy dreams like that at the end of an extraordinary comeback on a dubious situation".

"If you can't handle the pressure and have the courage to make a decision, then you should just sit in the stands and eat your crisps".
