Mourinho: What I told Pogba after the Manchester derby

Manchester United legend, Michael Carrick has revealed the message he delivered to midfielder, Paul Pogba ahead of last weekend's Manchester derby at the Etihad. Pogba, who was outstanding in the 3-2 win at Manchester City eight days ago, has played his way out of a dip in form that led to him being dropped from United's first team earlier this year, and Mourinho wants to see his recent improvement maintained.

"I will tell you what I told him after the (City) match and it's exactly what I told him - I don't expect you to be man of the match every week, I don't expect you to score two goals every week", said Mourinho. But I expect you to be consistent.

I think he has to keep that stability and with that will appear the special match like it happened against City'. However, while Real Madrid has depended on Keylor Navas over the last two odd years, the Costa Rican has struggled this season, especially in the La Liga along with the rest of the club.

"The first thing is stability at a training level - stability during the working week. We are not going to do anything insane", said Mourinho.

"We need the points to finish second. obviously to finish fourth, we need four or five points, but to finish second we need much more than that", Mourinho added.

"We are just trying to improve a little bit more, to give sequence to it".

Air Strike On Syria Takes Toll On Mid-South Families
Trump on Friday ordered precise strikes against Syrian military facilities with Britain and France in a coordinated action. The strikes were carried out by manned aircraft and from ships that launched cruise missiles from the Mediterranean Sea.

"Maybe also City will invest massively and they don't let the others close the gap to them, I don't know", he added.

"If we finish second no one is going to be able to deny us the points total, and it will be hard to say anyone apart from City was better than us".

"Eventually, I think I would like to be a manager".

Pogba won the Europa League and the League Cup last season but the Red Devils finished in sixth place in the Premier League table.

Shaka Hislop says Manchester United would still be in the title race if Jose Mourinho always took the reins off Paul Pogba like he did in the second half against Man City.
