James Comey: Safe to Say That America Is 'Dangerous' Under Trump

Several of the episodes he describes in detail, including a private conversation about former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn, are central to special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation and his recollections are presumably valuable for prosecutors examining whether the president's actions constitute obstruction of justice.

Women believe Comey over Trump 54-25 per cent and nonwhites pick Comey over Trump 63-15 per cent.

Would he have still sent the letter, Mr. Stephanopoulos asked, if he knew it would get Mr. Trump elected?

Mr Comey today revealed he knew the probe would present a "no-win" situation for him and said after the November 8 election, he questioned whether the Federal Bureau of Investigation had played a role in Mr Trump's election. And that's not a policy statement. "I don't care what your views are on guns or immigration or taxes".

Reuters and other news outlets have obtained copies of Comey's book before its formal release.

Former FBI Director James Comey says our president must be truthful - and Comey contends he is not able to do that.

He also said it was possible Russian Federation was holding something over Mr Trump.

Possibly maybe. More importantly, he now looks like a guy who needs an impeachment lawyer.

"The norm is, 'If you can avoid it, you take no action that might have an impact on an election.' And I can't see a door that's labeled 'No action here, '" Comey said.

"He is morally unfit to be president", he added. "Is Donald Trump unfit to be president?" "It's possible, but I don't know", Comey told ABC's George Stephanopoulos.

But having helped deliver the Trump presidency, Comey is now going out of his way to deliver the Trump impeachment proceedings.

In one highlight, Stephanopoulos said: "You write that President Trump is unethical, untethered to the truth".

Comey told ABC News that he believes there is "certainly some evidence of obstruction of justice".

'Mission Accomplished' in Syria, Trump declares
Russian Federation and Iran called the use of force by the United States and its French and British allies a "military crime" and "act of aggression".

Still, he said it strikes him as unlikely but something that he can't say without high confidence.

Comey's book will be released next week.

Trump has "impressively coifed hair, "it looks to be all his", Comey said". "These are more words I never thought I'd utter about a president of the United States, but it's possible".

'People in this country need to stand up and go to the voting booth and vote their values'.

Comey also discussed the briefing of Trump's alleged pee tape, describing the meeting with the president over the matter as "really weird" and like an "out of body experience". "I was floating above myself looking down saying 'you're sitting here briefing the incoming president of the United States about prostitutes in Moscow'".

In a pair of tweets, Trump accused Comey of leaking classified information and lying to Congress under oath.

"In other words, he was making decisions based on the fact that he thought she was going to win, and he wanted a job", Trump tweeted.

Trump has slammed the dossier as fake and a disgrace.

Comey also recalls his first impression of president trump.

"Unbelievably, James Comey states that Polls, where Crooked Hillary was leading, were a factor in the handling (stupidly) of the Clinton Email probe", Trump said.

"There was material that I knew someday, when it's declassified, and I thought that would be decades in the future, would cause historians to wonder, "Hmm, was there some odd business goin" on there? Come with me, and sit there with me", he said. And that me caught me so much by surprise I actually let out an audible laugh and- 'cause it was just one of those- I was startled by it'.

The President and his allies have launched a forceful counterattack. And after Trump explained that he would never allow people to urinate near him, Comey recalls laughing.
