Sega Ages For Nintendo Switch Could Expand With Dreamcast, Saturn Games

But there's a good possibility that once the initial batch of 15 games is released, Sega could expand upon the collection - and in better ways than you could possibly imagine.

Only Sonic the Hedgehog, Thunder Force IV and Phantasy Star were confirmed to start, but later in the day Alex Kidd and arcade title Gain Ground were confirmed as well.

And the latest announcement concerns some new retro titles being brought to Nintendo's latest console.

This is quite interesting as according to the magazine Nintendo's next Pokemon title for the Switch will have some new mechanics, this raises the question at what classic mechanics will be changed and what will be added in replacement.

Sega revealed that a bunch of classic Sega Mega Drive and Sega Master System titles will be released on Nintendo Switch under the Sega Ages label.

The first round of Sega Ages titles hit the Nintendo Switch this summer.

After sacking Alan Pardew at the start of the month, Darren Moore has been handed the West Brom until the end of the season. The England midfielder's effort lacked venom, though, and was parried to safety by David de Gea.

These will be released in 2018 as individual games to buy on the Nintendo Switch eShop.

There's also some exciting news for fans of the Sega Dreamcast and Saturn consoles too. Most of these compilations never left Japan, but many hardcore retro gaming enthusiasts and Sega fans still consider Sega Ages to be the gold standard when it comes to classic game re-releases.

At this point, there's no word yet on prices or release dates, but Sega did say that those five titles won't be the only classic games going to the Nintendo Switch.

Alex Kidd has been included because of its popularity on the Virtual Console in Europe.

Gain Ground is the first arcade game that has been announced as part of Sega Ages, and Sega has said that it will not be the only one.
