Trump Says Comey "Committed Many Crimes" as His Twitter Eruption Continues

Trump Says Comey

Comey's comments in an ABC News interview broadcast Sunday were nearly certain to escalate his war of words with the president and further erode a relationship marked by open hostility and name-calling.

If Comey was so uncomfortable with Trump's alleged behavior and requests, why didn't he just quit?

Mr. Comey said Mr. Trump is "a stain" on everyone who comes into contact with him, a man who treats women "like they're pieces of meat" and "morally unfit to be president". "The president is confounded that this person is always able to divert the spotlight to him", White House adviser Kellyanne Conway said in an interview with ABC News on Monday.

He was referring to Clinton's use of an unencrypted emails sever to send classified information - which Comey insists he investigated fairly. Trump has called the special counsel probe a "witch hunt" and repeatedly insisted there was no collusion between his campaign and Russian Federation.

Comey could not confirm or deny any of the rumored material in the alleged dossier, but did say "it's possible" that Russian Federation has leverage over Trump.

The jumble of references appeared to allude to unsubstantiated accusations Trump has previously made claiming Comey lied in Senate testimony last May in denying he had served as an anonymous news source.

'But the deputy director who was a great deputy director and a longtime special agent, looked at me and said, "You know you're totally screwed, right?" The retired general pleaded guilty in December and is now cooperating with Mueller's investigation. He keeps a very juicy diary, thinks Donald Trump is a serial liar morally unfit to be president, and believes he is the conscience of the United States of America in these troubled times.

It was a hard task for the producers and editors - but they conveyed Comey's complex decision-making as Federal Bureau of Investigation director and his complicated feelings about President Donald Trump, who fired him last May.

The assertion that Trump demanded loyalty was "another of his many lies", Trump tweeted. Lindsey Graham (R- S.C.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) who found transcripts in August showing that Comey had drafted a statement rejecting charges be filed against Clinton, about two months before Clinton ever spoke with FBI investigators.

When asked by Stephanopoulos if Obama was trying to "color the case" against Clinton, Comey said "I don't know".

Gergen said Comey's book could "change the narrative" about the Trump presidency.

Comey re-openened the Hillary Clinton email investigation just days before the election, which many believe cost her the White House.

"Unbelievably, James Comey states that Polls, where Crooked Hillary (Clinton) was leading, were a factor in the handling (stupidly) of the Clinton Email probe". Comey also revealed during the hearing that he documented his interactions with Trump because he was "concerned" that the President "might lie about the nature of our meeting". "I don't remember consciously thinking about that, but it must have been because I was operating in a world where Hillary Clinton was going to beat Donald Trump, and so I'm sure that it was a factor", Comey said during the interview.
