Donkey Kong king Billy Mitchell says he didn't cheat

Billy Mitchell, newly disgraced arcade gaming champion and star of the documentary King of Kong, has issued a statement following last week's revelation that his Donkey Kong score, and indeed all his other record breaking arcade scores, had been disqualified after a lengthy investigation by Twin Galaxies. This lead to both Twin Galaxies and the Guinness World Records removing all his scores from their books.

"We also recognize records for First flawless score on Pac-Man and Highest score on Pac-Man". It's a decision that certainly wasn't made lightly, as Billy Mitchell is probably the most famous face in retro gaming and has been deeply involved with Twin Galaxies since its founding in the 1980s. For now, we'll have to wait and see what evidence and witnesses Mitchell can produce. The gamer questioned whether Mitchell earned the marks on an arcade machine. But it's taken a considerable amount of time.

Mitchell is one of the highest-profile gamers in the world because of his list of records. He also was featured in the 2007 documentary "The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters". Mitchell claims his process is "true, professional due diligence" as opposed to Twin Galaxies' "shock jock mentality designed to create hits".

Himesh Patel (BBC's EastEnders , Damned ) and Kate McKinnon (TV's Saturday Night Live , The Spy Who Dumped Me ). He has performed Beatles tributes in the past, so it would be in his wheelhouse.

There's no denying that Mitchell is a ridiculously skilled video game player, his ideal Pac-Man score is a mind-boggling feat of memory, patience and pixel-perfect control, but, as this situation continues, the Floridian native risks this recent revelation becoming the defining mark for his entire gaming career.

"We will show, everything that has been done, everything was done professionally, according to the rules, according to the scoreboard and integrity that was set up, not by the 2014 forward by the current regime, who wants to reach back 35 years".
