In the month of April, 14.8 inches of snow has fallen in St. Cloud. Some drifts in city limits were higher than three feet, and piles on Main Street were over six feet tall after plows started rolling Saturday. No travel was advised throughout the area through Saturday night and into Sunday morning.

The advisory was in effect until 9 a.m. Two of these injuries in Brainerd and St. Cloud were described as serious, and one fatality was reported in Medina.

Initial forecasts showed high snowfall totals because the winter storm appeared on track to generate snow from both Pacific moisture and moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, said Todd Chambers, a meteorologist with NWS Billings. Gusts were reported between 40 and 55 miles per hour throughout Friday night and early Saturday morning.

Consumers Energy reported outages affecting about 30,000 of its customers. There were also 120 Rosebud Electric Cooperative consumers without power over the weekend in Gregory County and another 140 customers of the Charles Mix Electric Association without power in Charles Mix County.
