Matthysse honored to fight legend Pacquiao, but won't show respect in ring

"I want to prove and show that I am not done yet", Pacquiao said during a press conference at City of Dreams yesterday formally announcing his shot at the World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight title of Matthysse scheduled July 15 in Malaysia.

In line with this, aside form the Pacquiao-Mathysse world title bout, the Fight of Champions card in Kuala Lumpur will feather an IBO Featherweight World Title bout between unbeaten Cebuano rising star Jhack Tepora and Mexican Edivaldo Ortega.

However, he said he will be training with bosom friend Buboy Fernandez for the Kuala Lumpur fight on July 15.

"It's a great honor for me to be fighting against Manny Pacquiao".

"He wanted to wear it out of respect for being a first timer (here) in the Philippines", said Gomez, who also acts as the champ's interpreter when they met the local press at the City of Dreams just hours upon arrival on Wednesday. He is still a great fighter, very, very good. Horn (18-0-1, 12 KOs) won their 12-round title bout by unanimous decision, but Horn's victory in his hometown of Brisbane was widely considered controversial.

Her coach, Weber State's Paul Pilkington , told her go to out conservatively, and for the majority of the race, Sellers hung back. He even facetimed in to his students during the race, to give them some encouragement before state testing starts Tuesday.

"I will do my best to win convincingly". Pacquiao, who's now a full-time senator and a part-time boxer, still is in no position to overlook an opponent, especially one that can punch as hard as Matthysse. I'll die for it.

Pacquiao and Roach had enjoyed a massively successful 16 year partnership, but Roach learned about his dismissal at the same time as the rest of the boxing industry. "When that decision is made, Freddie will be the first one to be informed and then I will advise the media", the 39-year-old added.

Pacquiao also clarified that he is not totally parting ways with Freddie Roach and said he "left the door open".

Pacquiao's last knockout win was in 2009 against Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto for the World Boxing Organization welterweight title. If I were to choose Buboy, it is to try and give him experience, then maybe go back to Freddie. "I'm proud of being given the task but I will let Manny make the decision", Fernandez said in Filipino in a separate interview.

It will also be MP Promotions' first global venture.
