3.6 magnitude quake hits south of Windsor, Ont.

The 3.6 magnitude natural disaster hit near Amherstburg, Ontario, at 8:01 p.m. and was felt across the Metro area, especially Downriver.

The quake late Thursday near Amherstburg, Ontario, a town of about 21,900 people, was felt in MI. An estimated 100,000 earthquakes of this status occur each year around the world.

According to top state government sources, a reshuffle is now likely to take place later this week in the government. The decision follows hectic parleys between senior BJP leader Avinash Khanna and party legislators, sources said.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) has confirmed that an quake occurred in the Windsor-Essex area Thursday evening. That is right across the Detroit River from Grosse Ile.
