Big Blow To Modi : Sr Leader Quits BJP

"I end all my ties with the BJP", said the former Union minister, who held the portfolios of finance ministry and external affairs ministry, adding, "I will not have any ties to party politics".

BJP dissident Yashwant Sinha, who has not left any stone unturned in criticising the BJP-led central government has quit from the party. Sinha said: "Today I am taking "sanyas" from any kind of party politics, today I am ending all ties with the BJP". At the event, he said, "I am quitting BJP". "I will not become a member of any other party".

"I am not an aspirant for any top post and I am making it clear here that I am not at all interested in seeking any post", Sinha said. He made this announcement at an event in Patna, Bihar. he was attending an event- Rashtra Manch at Patna's SKM Hall. The veteran leader has, on many occasions, criticised the BJP and the Narendra Modi government.

"I'm breaking all my relations with BJP now and I'll not take any position in the future", Yashwant Sinha announced during a meeting of his organization Rashtra Manch in Patna this afternoon. He said, "Patna has always shown the country the way forward when there had been a crisis". "Did the current PM even try to reach out to the opposition parties to resolve the impasse?", asked Sinha.

Sinha had joined BJP in the 1990s after a brief stint with the then Janata Dal.

Over several months, Sinha had pointed out several flaws of the Modi government in both domestic and foreign fronts.
