Fox execs finally reveal why Brooklyn Nine-Nine was canceled

"ABC didn't really prioritize Last Man Standing", and it still drew more than eight million viewers a week, Fox Television Group cochairman Dana Walden told reporters Monday morning.

If you're a fan of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, then you'll know this past weekend has been one helluva rollercoaster. "We fit in with their comedies, we're going to make so much money!" he quipped gleefully.

Tim Allen's "Last Man Standing", canceled past year by ABC, is being resurrected by Fox next season because it's a "great comedy" and not as a conservative statement, Fox executives said Monday.

NBC says it will introduce five new dramas and two new comedies next season. As nice as it is to think that NBC revived the show because Mark Hamill was sad something like this has probably been lined up for months. But Fox was aware others were interested in the show and is "happy" it found a home, she said. Not so lucky: Last Man on Earth, which Fox canceled, along with The Mick, Lucifer, and The Exorcist.

Later, she said, "We're not in the "likes" business".

Despite its generally low ratings, Greenblatt said it's "one of the few comedies in recent years that does a robust worldwide number, and it has a syndication upside, which a lot of shows don't have anymore".

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it was a "great day of peace", adding: 'You can only build peace on truth. The move of the embassy has made Rockford resident Roni Golan, an Israeli living in Rockford, feel a sense of pride.

Plus, don't forget that the writing was on the wall for a long time with Brooklyn Nine-Nine - there was talk that it might not last beyond its fifth series a full year ago - so NBC had plenty of time to see this coming and figure something out. Added cochairman Gary Newman: "Tim's personal politics really aren't a big feature of the show".

NBC lost its entertainment president Jennifer Salke, who left to lead Amazon Studios, in February in the midst of development season. We always felt like ABC didn't really prioritize Last Man Standing.

Created by the "Parks and Recreation" duo of Dan Goor and Michael Schur, who are former college roommates, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" centers on Peralta, played by "Saturday Night Live" alum Samberg, a screwball who happens to be a real good cop.

[Brooklyn Nine-Nine] fits into our brand of comedy in many ways better than it fits into Fox's brand of comedy...

A number of the shows actors took to Twitter to celebrate it's return by sharing gifs, inside jokes from the show, and thanking the fans for their support.

In a statement sent to Fox News on Friday, Allen said he was "excited" to begin filming Season 7. The mystery/sci-fi-ish show focuses on a turbulent plane flight that ends safely - but the world has moved on, to five years in the future.
