'Peaky Blinders' wins big at BAFTA Television Awards

The Virgin TV BAFTA Television awards took place at London's Royal Festival Hall on Monday evening, and a guest list which spanned breakfast TV presenters to Hollywood actresses and reality TV stars made for an eclectic red carpet.

Sean Bean won the award for Leading Actor for his performance as a Catholic priest in Broken against Joe Cole for the "Hang the DJ" episode of Black Mirror, Tim Piggott-Smith for King Charles III and Jack Rowan for Born to Kill. "But let me say I'll just be putting in half the effort".

"The Crown" won only one of its three races at the 2018 BAFTA TV Awards on May 13 when Vanessa Kirby claimed the supporting actress prize for her riveting portrayal of Princess Margaret. 'Tonight I am having to work alongside a massive organ, ' she said.

Molly Windsor took home the 2018 BAFTA TV Award for Best Leading Actress for her role in Three Girls, a BBC drama based on the Rochdale child sex abuse ring.

Casualty was awarded the BAFTA for Soap & Continuing Drama, a category that recognises exceptional talent in delivering long-running continuing dramas.
