Is the Nokia X6 Cannibalizing the Nokia 6 Series?

HMD Global, the company that now holds the right to manufacture and sell Nokia phones, had scheduled a launch event in China last month on April 27th. In addition, HMD Global, the licensee of Nokia has implemented a dual rear camera module on the Nokia X6 for the first time. Nokia X6 comes in a variety of colours and will be available in China from May 21. The device comes with glass sandwich design with metal frame in the middle and 2.5D curved glass on either side.

The device comes with a 5.8-inch IPS display that offers Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. Shielding the display is Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The Nokia X6 is powered by octa-core processor and it comes with 4GB of RAM. It will include an internal storage of 64GB, and is upgradable via a microSD card slot up to 128GB. Around the back, Nokia has fitted a dual-lens camera system comprising 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel (monochrome) sensors, both of which have f/2.0 apertures.

It's worth mentioning that other companies like Oppo, Vivo and Honor have also launched smartphones featuring the AI technology in their cameras.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has had a tumultuous development cycle, previously being announced and then later cancelled in 2011 . Ultimately, we will more than likely learn more about the second game straight from the horse's mouth sometime soon.

The battery is rated at 3,060 mAh and it's charged over a USB-C connector up to Quick Charge 3.0 speeds. Out of the box, the Nokia X6 will run stock-ish Android 8.1 Oreo with little customisations done by HMD Global. The Nokia X6 will come with glass back body and will be available in Blue, Black, Silver, and White color options.

HMD Global, says that it is committed to the China market, and has further announced that they will setup a global mobile center at Shenzhen in China, which will focus on research. The cutout houses the 16MP selfie camera, powering the handset's Face Unlock abilities.

The Nokia X6 is priced at the lower end of the mid-range spectrum, starting off with a CNY 1299 (approx $204 or Rs 13835) cost for the 4GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM variant. For connectivity, it comes with 4G VoLTE, 802.11ac dual band Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5 and a headphone jack. Stay tuned for more tech news and updates.
