Stalker 2 is in development (again)

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has had a tumultuous development cycle, previously being announced and then later cancelled in 2011. Besides the number and moniker, nothing else has been announced yet.

"Today 15.05.2018. I officially declare: GSC GAME WORLD DEVELOPS S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2", reads Grygorovych's post, followed by a link to the promotional website for the game. Ultimately, we will more than likely learn more about the second game straight from the horse's mouth sometime soon.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has been revealed and is now set to launch in 2021.

So far, the STALKER franchise has 3 titles: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl; S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky of 2008 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat of 2009.

For those not familiar with the title, S.T.A.L.K.E.R is a spooky first-person shooter that is known for its dark themes and challenging gameplay.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 originally began development in 2010, but difficulties with the game's development led to its cancellation and the eventual closure of GSC Game World. But now, Sergey Galyonkin who is an employee of Epic Games, and the creator of the Steam Spy service, tweeted out that GSC seems to have licensed Unreal Engine 4 to create STALKER 2.
