Blackford County had 8,023 voters registered for the May 8 Primary Election, of which 28.83 percent of voters cast ballots.

But there also was strong interest in two contested seats on the Norfolk City Council, a subdistrict seat representing Norfolk on the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District board of directors, as well as a contentious race for a seat on the Stanton County board of commissioners. By end of day Monday, 95,276 Multnomah voters had returned their ballots, compared to 84,801 in 2014. The last day for those applying and voting absentee in person to do so is June 9.

Therefore, it is absolutely imperative that we vote in the Georgia Primary election on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.

That dollar per vote figure should go down a bit as there is one more election to be totaled in the county this year. Sara Gelser and incumbent District 15 Rep. Dan Rayfield are running unopposed in the Democratic primary. Benton County isn't scheduled to roll out ranked choice voting until November 2020, but we fear it may take longer than that for it to be used in a real election. If you are a registered Virginia voter but do not have an acceptable photo ID, free voter photo IDs are processed at all of Virginia's 133 local general registrars' offices.
