Bill Gates Says Trump Didn't Know The Difference Between HPV And HIV

The Microsoft founder's comments were made to the staff at his charitable Gates Foundation, video of which was obtained by MSNBC and aired Thursday night on All In With Chris Hayes.

But after Mr Trump secured the USA presidency, Mr Gates revealed he had spoken with the President on two occasions - once at Trump Tower in New York City in December 2016 and again in March 2017 at the White House.

Gates, who has set up a charitable foundation to give away his $92.5billion fortune with wife Melinda, also told an audience of Trump's "scary" obsession with his 22 year-old daughter Jennifer's appearance. "And I said no, that's a dead end, that would be a bad thing, don't do that". "Melinda [Gates' wife] did not like that too well". Um, YEAH! If Trump doesn't know the difference between HPV and HIV, can you imagine how many other things the president would have needed to be schooled about? One of the striking points in the clips was that Gates recalled details about his daughter's meeting with the POTUS back in December 2016. At that meeting, in Trump Tower, Gates said he advised Trump to "be associated with innovation".

Gates also said that Trump asked him during one of their meetings what the difference between HIV and HPV was. "'Gates says, Gates knows that you're not doing things right, '" he joked. "So I was able to explain that those were rarely confused with each other".

The Microsoft founder was answering staff questions during a recent Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation meeting when he revealed the freakish anecdote.

White House Weighs in on Laurel vs. Yanny Debate: 'I Hear Covfefe'
In the light-hearted video , staffers are asked if they hear "Laurel" in the audio clip, or if they hear "Yanny". Ivanka Trump is definitely on Team Laurel, but Kellyanne "alternative facts" Conway isn't too loyal to her side.

Trump has repeatedly questioned the need for vaccines, and has repeated a debunked theory that they are linked to autism in infants and young children.

HPV, human papillomavirus, is a common sexually transmitted infection that generally causes no symptoms.

On both occasions, Trump asked Gates what the difference between HIV and HPV was.

HIV is the virus that causes the disease known as AIDS. He said: "'Trump hears that you don't like what Trump is doing.' And I thought, 'Wow, but you're Trump, '" he said, drawing laughter from the audience.

The Microsoft co-founder said Mr Trump knew a "scary" amount about his daughter's looks, revealing how he once returned via helicopter to a horse show where she was, despite already having been there 20 minutes earlier. Bill Gates, 62, relayed a story about how he's had two conversations with the president and both times the topic of vaccines came up.
