Professor Nageshwar - Who should form the Government in a hung Assembly?

"If the Karnataka Governor can invite the Bharatiya Janata Party, the single largest party to form the government, why can't the Goa Governor invite the Congress, the single largest party in Goa, to form the government here?"

While the Congress announced it will be meeting Goa governor Mridula Sinha to ask him to invite the party to stake claim to the government, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav also asked the Bihar governor Satya Pal Malik to dissolve the assembly and invite his party to form a government in the state. The new found alliance partners said that in Goa the single largest party was not invited to form the government.

Leaders of Karnataka Congress and Janatha Dal (Secular) stage a dharna in front of the Gandhi Statue against the Karnataka Governor's order to invite BJP Leader, BS Yediyurappa, to take oath as the new Chief Minister of the state in Bangalore on May 17. "We might opt for legal options if our plea is not heard", a senior RJD leader said requesting anonymity.

"We're seeking appointment from Guv for tomorrow". It directed the Centre to place before it two communications, sent by Yeddyurappa to Governor Vajubhai Vala in which he had staked claim to form the government, saying their perusal was necessary to decide the case.

Similar claims are also being made by Congress leaders in Goa where Congress with 21 out of 40 seats was the single largest party in the last state elections. "We will go to the people and we will tell them how BJP is going against the Constitution". Why double standards? Congress state President Girish Chodankar told reporters. "We request Her Excellency to follow big brother Karnataka Governor and invite the Congress to form the Goa government to rectify a wrong", he stressed. Yadav, son of Lalu Prasad and the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar assembly, told reporters in Patna he has sought an appointment with the Governor Satyapal Malik tomorrow before whom "we wish to submit that there can not be double standards".

Zuckerberg to meet European Union officials _ dodging public grilling
While Nix has testified once to the committee, lawmakers want him to give further evidence - a request he had previously declined. Zuckerberg will meet leaders behind closed doors, something that's being slammed by Liberal leader Guy Verhofstadt on Twitter .

Kavalekar added, "We emerged as the single largest party in the February 2017 polls with 17 MLAs and even today we continue to be the single largest party with 16 MLAs". The "material" the court had sought in its late-night hearing is the letter of support that chief minster Yeddyurappa had received from party MLAs.

"Like in Karnataka, the Governor should invite the single-largest party, which in Bihar is RJD".

In the Manipur poll held a year ago, the Congress had won 28 seats in the 60-member House and the BJP 21.

"Tomorrow at 1 PM will meet Bihar Governor", Tejashwi Yadav, RJD leader and former deputy chief minister wrote on Twitter on Thursday.

In a tweet, questioning as to how there can be different yardsticks for different states, the Congress has said the the BJP government must resign in Goa, Manipur, Meghalaya and Bihar as there "cannot be two different laws for two situations".
