Rafa Benitez could 'walk away' from Newcastle contract

Moyes's departure from the London Stadium was confirmed this morning, with reports indicating he had run out of patience with West Ham, and Fonseca was among the candidates they were hoping to talk to. Any club who wants to employ Benitez, will have to pay £6m in compensation to the Magpies.

Shearer continued: "That would be a really really big surprise if he were to leave Newcastle and go to West Ham. If I can answer you in two days?", asked Fonseca.

With the 2017/18 Premier League season at an end, most fans can be excused for switching off from everything and recharging the batteries that the stress levels have drained.

Ashley has again pledged to give Benitez "every last penny the club generates" after he guided them to a 10th-placed finish, with the owner insisting he would reject any approach for the manager.

Despite his frustrations with owner Mike Ashley and the board, there were not any direct connections to other Premier League options.

SRH v RCB: SRH won the toss and chose to field
SRH will be after seeing the performance from the bat of Pandey as it was a major concern for them. The England all-rounder hit two boundaries in his 34-ball knock but as many as six maximums.

It was interesting to read a very good recent piece by George Caulkin who covers Newcastle United for The Times, he said that it was more about the freedom to operate as he sees fit that Rafa Benitez was most bothered about, not the actual exact budget figure.

However, for West Ham to be able to tempt Benitez away from his Newcastle project, Waddle believes they would need to offer the Spaniard some "unbelievable" assurances to get him to sign. In case you go to China you can also make some huge cash.

Newcastle United and manager Rafa Benitez will certainly be staying busy this summer, as the club look to add pieces that will boost their squad's quality for the upcoming 2018-19 campaign.

Benitez's representatives are discussing his future with the club's hierarchy.
