Solo Showdown Limited Time Mode Announced

Solo Showdown Limited Time Mode Announced

Fortnite's latest limited time mode, Solo Showdown, doesn't actually change any of the battle royale shooter's rules, unlike all the other temporary modes we've seen. Instead of manipulating the core game, the Solo Showdown event is a test for esports that will send ripples into Fortnite's future. Yeah, Fortnite always tracked your performance across matches, but now it's putting its V-Bucks where its stats are.

The Solo Showdown mode started this morning and runs until 10 AM EST on Monday. Those who come in second through fourth will receive 25,000 V-Bucks, while the players who place fifth through fiftieth will get 13,500 V-Bucks. Under Playlists, you'll even find past limited time modes such as 50 vs 50, Solid Gold and so on. Get some practice knocked out in the standard solo queue in Fortnite Battle Royale, but make sure you get your 50 placement matches done before the end date. Everyone who completes 50 matches will receive a one-off spray. The best player will take away 50,000 V-Bucks, the game's currency for cosmetic items, and other top-100 finishers will claim virtual prizes too. Considering Solo Showdown is only available from today, May 17, until May 21, that doesn't give you all that much time to squeeze in 50 matches. First place will earn themselves a cool 50,000 V-Bucks. You'll get 100 points for a win, down to 25 for finishing in the bottom quarter of players.

The goal of the adding the game mode is to provide a "stepping stone to learn how to build great events for all types of players".

If you're a frequent window shopper of the Fortnite in-game store, you'll know that those V-Bucks will go a long way in customizing characters with skins, emotes, back blings and more. You can check out all the scoring and full list of rules over on Epic Games' site here.

Indore India's cleanest city, Mumbai best among state capitals
If you are wondering which are the "worst-performing cities", in terms of cleanliness, then you have to wait for a while. New Delhi Municipal Council is country's cleanest small city having a population between one lakh to three lakh.
