Police search past nightfall for suspects in officer's death

A 16-year-old male was arrested earlier Tuesday morning in connection with the death of a Maryland police officer on Monday, after the officer was shot and possibly run over, and later died, officials said Tuesday. According to the documents, the caller told the dispatcher that the officer had confronted the driver of the Jeep and was "on the ground". The witness said the Jeep then drove "directly at [the officer]" and struck her before fleeing.

Although the governor initially said she died after being shot, police later said they could not confirm exactly how she died.

She is the first female county officer to die in the line of duty.

In December and January, Caprio helped solve a series of package thefts in Baltimore County.

Court records show 16-year-old Dawnta Anthony Harris, of the 1600 block of Vincent Court, in the Gilmor Homes complex in West Baltimore, has been charged in her death.

Baltimore County Police Chief Terrence Sheridan said at a news conference the fallen officer was wearing body camera, and the footage will be reviewed later as part of the investigation.

She was pronounced dead at 2:50 p.m., Vinson said. Shawn Vinson said Monday evening that the enormous manhunt was continuing unabated in the suburban community of Perry Hall, Maryland, where witnesses reported hearing a pop before seeing a Jeep run over the officer Monday afternoon.

Baltimore County Schools have announced that all schools will open on time on Tuesday. They say it won't be determined until an autopsy is performed.

Harris, who was arrested near where a Jeep was found abandoned, told a detective he had been waiting in the driver's seat of the vehicle as other associates of his were in the process of committing a burglary, according to the probable cause statement.

I think one of the reasons that Deadpool resonated so well with an audience was because it really was a labour of love. While Reynolds proved that he was born to play Deadpool (and not Green Lantern ), Josh Brolin is brilliant as Cable .

Amendt said his wife also ran outside and tried to revive the officer, to no avail.

It was not immediately clear what charges the other three suspects face. Scott Shellenberger, the state's attorney for Baltimore County, told The Associated Press that the suspect is scheduled to appear before a judge at a Towson courthouse at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The officer's death stunned the quiet, residential neighborhood, said Baltimore County Councilman David Marks, who lives nearby.

Hogan said Maryland State Police are helping local law enforcement with their search for the suspect "who committed this bad crime".

Gov. Larry Hogan said in a tweet Monday afternoon that the female officer was shot. He said he left the Jeep where officers later found it.

Logan Kurek, who is a volunteer firefighter, said he heard his younger brother "frantically screaming" and ran outside to perform CPR.

The incident began around 2 p.m. Monday when police were called to investigate a report of a possible burglary in which three people had gotten out of a black Jeep and were walking around homes, according to a probable cause statement.

"The dark will not hamper our investigation", Vinson vowed at a news briefing Monday evening. A next-door neighbor said she didn't know the officer and her husband, except for the occasional wave hello.
