In a statement provided to PEOPLE, the U.S. Embassy in Paris said, "We can confirm the death of Anthony Bourdain in the Haut-Rhin department of France".

The multi-talented Bourdain was in France working on his CNN series, Parts Unknown, at the time of his death, the network confirmed. He was a great storyteller as he collaborated food and travel to tel stories from around the world. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. "Out of respect for the family at this hard time we have no further comment". In addition to his shows, Bourdain was known for his books, such as his 2000 best seller, Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly.

Thus, as news of Bourdain's suicide spread, people from all walks of life took to social media to spread some awareness of mental illness.

Bourdain's body was found by his close friend and fellow chef Eric Ripert. It called his death a suicide. News, Sandra Lee said, "I am shocked".

"I was following him and it's one of those moments that sticks with you. he just dusted himself off and reached for his ciggies". "I launched an inquiry to determine the precise cause of the death of M. Bourdain". His girlfriend was actress Asia Argento, who has accused Harvey Weinstein of rape.

Posting on Twitter, British chef James Martin described Bourdain as "a titan of the food and drink world".

Starting his career in various NY restaurants including the Supper Club and One Fifth Avenue, in 1998 Bourdain became executive chef at Brasserie Les Halles.

Speaking to Bourdain's stature, White House press asked President Donald Trump if he had any comment as he crossed the White House lawn on his way to G-7 summit.

Condolences also poured in from Torontonians who admired his shows, and those who were inspired to eat at restaurants Bourdain recommended.

"Every time the show airs we get an influx of visitors from the USA and other parts of Canada", he said.

"´Low plastic stool, cheap but delicious noodles, cold Hanoi beer.´ This is how I´ll remember Tony", Obama said Friday in a tweet.

"No Reservations" is an American travel and food show, which was hosted by Anthony Bourdain. He left behind an 11-year-old daughter, Ariane, from his second marriage.

Bourdain took his own life, the network said in a statement.
