The network, which airs his show Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, confirmed the death Friday morning, saying the cause of death was suicide. CNN, his longtime employer, was the first outlet to report his death.

Meanwhile, Mr Obama posted a picture of himself on Twitter eating noodles with Bourdain in Hanoi, Vietnam.

And finally, the most lovely takeaway from Anthony Bourdain's life... and his passing.... Just because a place is remote and completely unlike anyplace you know, just because the people there look different and have different beliefs and everyday lives from you, just because someplace or someone is completely unfamiliar-don't be afraid.

"It is with great respect for the leader, the author, the TV entertainer, the visionary Anthony Bourdain that I express all my condolences to his family and to the anonymous people around the world who he made dream so much", Mr Nasti said.

Bourdain was found dead by one of his closest friends, celebrity chef Eric Ripert, in a hotel outside Strasbourg, France. Apparently there was a darker side to Bourdain and to the life he lived.

The 42-year-old Italian actress met Bourdain during the filming of Parts Unknown in Rome in 2016.

Asia wrote to her 422,000 followers: "Anthony gave all of himself in everything that he did".

Jean-Pierre Bemba: Congo warlord's conviction overturned :: Kenya
Bemba, wearing a suit and tie, showed little emotion as Presiding Judge Christine Van den Wyngaert reversed his convictions. Congo government spokesman Lambert Mende said that Bemba had the right to return home if released, Reuters reported.

"I don't know that I would do that today - now that I'm a dad or reasonably happy", he said. Even if you think you don't want to get involved or don't want your friend to be mad at you or if you're the one suffering and don't want to be talked out of it or feel insecure about asking for help.

Word of Bourdain's death comes on the heels Kate Spade's death by suicide just earlier this week.

He is survived by his 11-year-old daughter, Ariane. But he thrived in restaurant kitchens, and that work led him to the Culinary Institute of America, where he graduated in 1978.

Bourdain rhapsodized about the joys of food and drink but was candid about his struggles with own demons, including alcohol and drug abuse and depression. He eventually became executive chef at Brasserie Les Halles in 1998. I will find myself in an airport, for instance, and I'll order an airport hamburger.

Bourdain was twice divorced and has a daughter from his second marriage.

In the preface to the latest edition of Kitchen Confidential, Bourdain wrote of his shock at the success of his book, which he managed to write by getting up at 5am before his kitchen shifts.
