Domino's to fill literal potholes to make takeout easier

You will be notified personally if your town is nominated. "So we're helping to pave in towns across the country to save your good pizza from these bad roads", Domino's said. And it's supposedly fixed a number of potholes in towns across the United States-including Burbank, California; Milford, Delaware; and Athens, Georgia.

Domino's Pizza is underscoring the importance of its carryout business by working to make roads easier to drive on. If their town is selected, the customer will be notified and the city will receive funds to help fix some roads. It announced it's giving small grants to cities under a campaign called Paving for Pizza.

Russell Weiner, president of Domino's U.S., weighed in in a Monday news release: "Have you ever hit a pothole and instantly cringed?"

Dominos is no stranger to unusual publicity stunts, but those are usually tied to its vast ecommerce back-end, like its pizza robots or instant order pizza button.

To show the damage crummy roads can do to your pie, the website shows in-box footage of pizza getting pretty messed up under a variety of road conditions. They already have fixed 40 potholes in Milford, Delaware. On May 3, a Domino's spokesperson said the discovery was "an extremely isolated incident, confined to a single store". "We appreciated the extra Paving for Pizza funds to stretch our street fix budget as we addressed more potholes than usual", the city manager told Domino's.

The latter title is a well-known one as it brings together a bevy of famous shonen heroes for a Street Fighter-styled showdown. It'll be interesting to see what other Shonen Jump characters Bandai Namco will announce in the future.
