Kenilworth doctor made CBE in Queen's birthday honours list

Anti Corruption, and Steve Elworthy, ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Managing Director, were recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours list on Saturday.

Ms Coghill said: "I feel honoured and humbled to be recognised for the work I love doing in an organisation that is the best in the world".

Smyth, recognised for her services to the community through her roles with charities and scientific organisations, said the rise in the number of women receiving the highest honours reflected a growing appreciation of the role they play in society.

This is the latest accolade for the 28-year-old Joshua, who was rewarded with an MBE in 2013 after claiming an Olympic gold medal at the London 2012 Games. The Australian Honours and Awards Branch is also in contact with government and non-government agencies, prompting initiatives aimed at lifting the proportion of women nominated.

Other prominent awards include damehoods for Emma Thompson (for services to drama) and Mary Beard (for services to study of classical civilisations) and knighthoods for Nobel Laureate Kazuo Ishiguro (for services to literature), Simon Schama, and Kenny Dalglish.

"To receive such an MBE from Her Majesty is just a tremendous honour".

Holocaust survivor Ber Helfgott, also known as Ben, is knighted for services to Holocaust remembrance and education, one of almost three-quarters of those on the honours list deemed to have undertaken outstanding work in or for their local community.

A MAGISTRATE from Oldbury-on-Severn has said he is "delighted" to have been awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.
