Liverpool reportedly make €65m bid for Alisson

Alisson shone last season between the sticks for Roma and has been eyed by Liverpool, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the current transfer window.

Liverpool FC appear to have suffered a fresh blow in their pursuit of goalkeeper Alisson Becker after it was claimed that he is happy at AS Roma.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is expected to sign a new No.1 this summer following a dismal display from Loris Karius in the Champions League final.

Alisson has admitted he wants to sort his future before the World Cup, which gets underway on Thursday. "We'll see if something happens during this week".

According to a report from Brazilian publication UOL Esporte, the Reds held talks with the 25-year-old goalkeeper's agents just last week, regarding a summer switch to Anfield.

England though will not have long to absorb the lessons of that loss, with the first ODI against Australia at The Oval on Wednesday.

Though he is contracted to Roma until 2021, Alisson is likely to move this summer and he is keen to hear news before the tournament starts in Russian Federation.

This week, the Brazilian star revealed he hoped to have his future plans resolved before the start of the 2018 World Cup.

You'd imagine the clubs want the same, given what an impressive World Cup can do to a player's valuation.

That would be a world record fee for a goalkeeper, and would eclipse Liverpool's record fee paid which was £75 million for Virgil van Dijk in January.

"I don't really like making lists of who is the best, but as far as I'm concerned, he's one of the best in the world, together with [Manuel] Neuer, who I've always liked and is getting back now, and [David] De Gea, [Thibaut] Courtois".
