Skyrim isn't coming to Alexa...but this makes us wish it was

It was pretty amusing, partly because everyone loves to joke about Bethesda continuing to find new platforms to bring Skyrim to and new ways to re-release the seven-year old game.

Bethesda understands. We've had enough announcements of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim versions for new platforms.

Skyrim has been ported on to pretty much every console around now, and that is what Bethesda was riffing on when it was shown off in a video that showed Michael-Key playing it on a Samsung smart fridge and pager, as well as an Amazon Echo. Amazon Alexa owners have since realized the game does exist and can be played right now on the device.

The 'B' in IHOB stands for ... wait for it ... BURGERS!
I visited an IHOP , where they already had signs up potentially revealing the surprise: "The 'b" is for " burgers ". So for those concerned about IHOP permanently changing their name shouldn't worry.

Get Alexa - If you already have an Alexa equipped device such as the Amazon Echo or Dot, all you need to do is say "Alexa, Play Skyrim" to get started.

How Does Alexa Skyrim Gameplay Work?

As soon as you say "Alexa Play Skyrim" she'll give you a few quick stats about your player level and then will launch into a brief story scenario, which offers you two or three ways in which you can respond. Now, a smart assistant can't replicate what a flesh-and-blood DM could do, reacting to the off-the-wall whims of the adventuring party (like how when you plan a dungeon for your party, but they see a road going the opposite direction and decide, "Hey, let's go this way instead"). During a battle, you'll have options such as use a weapon, spell or shout skill. It's probably still years off at this point, but while we wait for more information, at least there's a new version of Skyrim to check out, right?
