Federation Internationale de Football Association nations vote for World Cup 2026 host

Federation Internationale de Football Association nations vote for World Cup 2026 host

The North American bid was in better shape to host the World Cup. Chinese sponsors have filled the gaps left after a number of long-term Fifa backers, including Johnson & Johnson, Castrol and Continental, ended their association with soccer's global governing body in the wake of the corruption scandal in May 2015.

CONCACAF, whose president - Canadian Victor Montagliani - played a key role in the bid, called the vote a "monumental victory" for the confederation that covers North and Central America and the Caribbean.

By the time the first World Cup ball is kicked in the United States, Mexico and Canada in 2026, MLS will be at least a 28-team league, and if attendance growth and salary spending growth continues at its current pace, the league should be at a point where it is ready to compete with any team in the Western Hemisphere, and most leagues in Europe.

"I would like to reaffirm the determination of my country to continue to work for football and realise one day our dream to host the World Cup in Morocco".

Although it would be the first tournament to be hosted by three nations, the vast majority of games will be held in the United States.

United States upsets China with new de facto embassy in Taiwan
It was opened to conduct relations with Taiwan following Washington's decision to switch diplomatic recognition to Beijing. Tsai has also refused to acknowledge the "1992 consensus" that there is only "one China" and that Taiwan forms part of it.

Vancouver will watch from the sidelines after the B.C. government, citing concerns over the possible costs of being a host city, was unable to come to terms with the bid committee.

Brazil's Neymar, England's Harry Kane, Egypt's Mohamed Salah, France's Antoine Griezmann and Belgium's Kevin De Bruyne are stars who could lift themselves into Player of the Year contention with stellar World Cups. We will meet somewhere, but I don't know where yet because they refuse to disclose the exact location.

Cordeiro has said his bid would generate $14b in revenue and make an $11b profit for Federation Internationale de Football Association. "Why should we be supporting these countries when they don't support us (including at the United Nations)?" Mexico has played in every World Cup since 1990. Both bids were of a very high quality and we welcome the fact that the bidding process was both open and transparent.

The North American bid got 17 low-risk assessments and three medium (organizing cost, legal-government support, and human rights and labour standards).

To do so would have invited ridicule when it needed to build or renovate the 14 stadiums it wants to use - a task FIFA's technical report said "cannot be overstated".
