Griezmann: Today isn't the day to discuss my future

The turning point has been the differences within his family over the final decision, with some keen for him to remain in Madrid and others backing a move to Barcelona. Some reports had pointed to Lemar's arrival as a key factor in whether Griezmann would return to the club or leave for Barcelona this summer.

The forward has been expected to confirm his future before the World Cup and said Saturday that was still the case.

While Manchester United have been linked with Griezmann previously, Deschamps said the forward was staying in Spain.

After announcing a press conference for Tuesday afternoon, it seemed that he was set to announce where he will play next season, only to opt against it.

"I know there's a lot of expectation, I know many were waiting for it, but today is not the day (to speak about my future)".

After facing the USA on Saturday in Lyon, France are due to fly to their training base near Moscow on Sunday.

If the Catalan club signed him now, it would cost them €200 million but if they wait until the turn of the month, it will be halved to €100 million.

Seeing how things have come full circle for Griezmann is just attractive and we're eager to see how he performs on the grandest stage of them all, especially considering how electric he was two years back.

Of course, if he was staying at Atleti, why wouldn't he just come out and say it now if he's already made his decision?
