Still, Saunders said it doesn't excuse the culturally insensitive term displayed on the front of the card. Really!?!? This was the only Father's Day card that featured a black couple!'

Both the verified American Greetings and Ask Target guest services Twitter accounts responded to the concerns, apologizing for what they say was "intended to be a playful husband card".

Popular retailer Target has issued an apology following an outcry of frustration on social media, according to a report from WFLA.

Target is in the crosshair of a controversy over its "Baby Daddy" Father's Day cards.

Photos of cards with the words "Baby Daddy" printed across a black couple kissing has been circulating since late May, and now Target has made a decision to act, reports Fox 5 DC.

Inside, the card reads: "You're a wonderful husband and father - and I'm so grateful to have you as my partner, my friend, and my baby daddy!"

Part C would give parliament the power to issue direct orders to the government if no deal was in place by 15 February 2019. Anti-Brexit MPs had argued that removing the no-deal effect was necessary for the vote to be a meaningful one.

Images of the card began circulating on social media, where it kicked up a discussion about the words "baby daddy". "My husband is not my baby daddy".

"However, we now see that the front page, taken out of context, can communicate an unintentional meaning that we are strongly against perpetuating", a company spokesperson emailed.

Other commenters wondered what message Target intends to send simply by stocking the card. We should do better in the future, and we will.

The backlash has prompted Target officials to remove the cards, and apologize to offended shoppers.

The popular chain said: We assure you it is never our intention to offend our guests with the merchandise we provide.
