The Latest on Trump and North Korea

US President Donald Trump attends a G7 and Gender Equality Advisory Council meeting as part of a G7 summit in the Charlevoix city of La Malbaie, Quebec, Canada.

Frustrated with lukewarm backing from congressional Republicans, criticism from Democratic opponents and skepticism from allies and the media, Trump made a stop on the North Lawn of the White House to promote his agreement with Kim and challenge the blowback that it's vague and lacking in clear objectives.

U.S. President Donald Trump this week agreed to halt joint U.S. "We're getting the remains".

Relations between the two countries began to take a positive turn in 2018 in the current framework of detente with North Korea and, above all, after the two summits between Kim and Xi held in March and April.

"That's a very important thing", he said. "He saluted me and I saluted him back. I got along with him very well". He can now call me if he has any difficulty.

It was the latest example of a Trump remark about strongmen leaders - delivered in a deadpan style - to fall flat and fuel perceptions among his critics that the president admires autocrats. Because if he was going to do something good, don't you think maybe he'd start at home? Trump has said both that he fired Comey for investigating alleged ties between his campaign and Russian Federation and that he didn't fire Comey for that reason.

Efforts to recover missing remains stalled more than a decade ago when USA officials couldn't guarantee the safety of American recovery teams sent into North Korea.

Inside, there is a full-length carbonfibre centre control and the seats are made with Alcanatara - both firsts for a Rapide. The Aston Martin Rapide AMR was previewed in concept form at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show and luckily not much has changed.

Trump says in the video that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is beginning talks with the North on implementing the accord. "Seoul has 28 million people 30 miles off the border, you would have had 30, 40, 50 million people killed".

But Trump seems keen to claim a quick diplomatic victory and the halt to major United States military exercises on the peninsula is a significant concession to both Pyongyang and Washington's rival China.

"That was my offer". I can call him. I guess they're using that as another sound bite. "Why aren't we being reimbursed?" he demanded, returning to his long-standing claim that United States allies like South Korea should repay the costs of their defense. We pay millions and millions of dollars for planes and all of this.

He argued he was saving a lot of money by stopping the exercises.

"We signed a very good document", he added. "He speaks and his people sit up at attention", Trump said speaking to reporters outside the White House.

In the immediate aftermath of the summit, Trump said in a speech: "Chairman Kim has told me that North Korea is already destroying a major missile engine testing site".
