Boseman, who plays the leader of the fictional African nation of Wakanda, gave his trophy to a man with no Hollywood connections.

She also posted a big ol" loving thank you to her fans, and a congratuwelldone to Schnapp for winning "Most Frightened Performance' (what a category) and the rest of the Stranger Things gang. "So thank you so much for what you did".

This was Millie Bobby Brown's message to bullies as she spoke via video link to accept the award for Best Performance in a TV Show, for her character Eleven in Stranger Things. While accepting the award, Lonsdale, dressed in a gold top, white skirt and cream and gold "Prince" sequin coat, urged kids to be themselves, saying, "You can live your dreams and wear dresses, you can live your dreams and kiss the one that you love no matter what gender they are". She also spoke out against her haters, who made her the subject of homophobic memes last week.

The MTV awards feature blockbuster movie and popular TV shows and has established itself as an antidote to the winter Hollywood awards season, which honours more serious fare.

For the second straight year, "Stranger Things" walked away with Best Show and star Millie Bobby Brown won Best Actor in a Show.

The nominees are decided by producers and MTV executives, while the winners are chosen by the public, who vote online.
