Kensington Palace has officially announced the date of Prince Louis' christening

Kensington Palace has announced Prince Louis - the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's newborn son - will be christened on Monday July 9.

That's because the two have prior engagements: William on another royal duty, and Kate caring for little Prince Louis.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's youngest child, born on April 23, will be baptised in the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace in London.

The Archbishop of Canterbury christened both Prince Louis' siblings in 2013 and 2015.

Princess Charlotte is being christened in the church if St Mary Magdalene in Sandringham, Norfolk, where Princess Diana was also christened.

Louis was born at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London, on St George's Day, weighing 8lb 7oz.

Prince Louis will be baptised at the same place as his older brother George.

Howard had back surgery in 2012 and has struggled to recapture the form and explosiveness of the first half of his career. One of those Nets picks is the 45th overall selection in Thursday's NBA Draft, while the other is said to be in 2021.

As for Kate Middleton, she's on maternity leave after giving birth to Prince Louis on April 23.

The Queen is head of the Church of England and Louis' father William will one day take on this role when he becomes king. The christening gown has been passed down to each generation and worn by 62 royal babies.

So far, the public have had just two glimpses of Kate and William's youngest child.

In keeping with royal tradition, Prince Louis will be baptized at the age of three months old.

It's been a big year for Welby, who also presided over the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle last month.

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were present in the celebration, Prince William and Kate Middleton didn't attend the event.
