PUBG reaches 400 million players, sells over 50 million copies

In addition to announcing the discount and the major patch, PUBG Corp. also revealed that its last-player-standing shooter has had more than 400 million total players worldwide across platforms like Steam, Kakao, Xbox One, Mail.Ru, iOS, and Android.

PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS is going to get a new Event Pass, for players to earn additional cosmetic rewards while playing the game.

The PUBG sale is now live, so you can get the game at the discounted price by heading to the game's Steam page and purchasing it there.

PUBG dropping to just $19.99 is a large 33.33% off the normal price, and will be this price through to July 5.

PUBG Corp also added in-game advertisements for its upcoming PUBG Global Invitational in Berlin. Curiously, one of the highlighted features is a graphic for the "PUBG Global Invitational", which I'm pretty sure won't make the game run any better. All PUBG players can complete daily, weekly, and event-exclusive challenges to level up their Event Pass.

Ex-FIFA president Sepp Blatter to attend Portugal's clash with Morocco
A spokesperson for the 82-year-old Swiss on Monday told dpa Blatter was planning to fly to Moscow on Tuesday ahead of the game. Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday he did not know whether any meeting had been planned.

"If you're hesitant about buying the Pass, but want to play the missions, you're free to do that".

Already, the game has been toppled from the top slot by the new player on the battle royale block -Fortnite.

PUBG Corp says more information on the first Event Pass will surface before Sanhok's launch on Friday. While the content unlocked will be themed around Sanhok, players will be able to complete the required tasks to unlock the content on any of the game's maps.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is Fortnite's biggest competitor.

In a blog post, the developer explained that the intent behind the current crate and key system was to allow players to unlock content "in meaningful ways", and bizarrely pointed out that the system "can feel extremely satisfying whenever you unlock rare items".
