Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday performed yoga with over 50,000 enthusiasts at the Forest Research Institute (FRI) campus here and said the ancient Indian discipline has emerged as a "powerful unifying" force in a strife-torn world. In a statement online the Embassy said, "We are looking forward to welcoming our friends from Oman as well as expatriate communities living in Oman to our grand yoga session on 21 June, 2018 from 1830 hrs [at the] Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.

I invite you to explore and celebrate yoga wherever you are".

And they can also be found stretching on their yoga mats all over the world.

Since the proclamation, the International Day of Yoga has continued to grow in popularity as the profile of the practice continues to rise as more than just an exercise but as a great tool for staying healthy.

"Yoga is not just a set of exercises that keeps the body fit".
