UNC Basketball: Joel Berry II signs contract with Lakers

"He might be the best pick-and-pop player in this draft, which is something the Lakers could definitely use", reporter Joey Ramirez said. "I had a couple workouts there and was [in step with] the staff and the players; it was a good atmosphere over there", Wagner told reporters during a post-draft conference call.

And while he knows a few of the Lakers - he and Josh Hart share the same agent, so they've hung out a few times - he's most excited to make new relationships the way he did when he first arrived at U-M.

Other than Newman, the Lakers also got Mo Wagner of MI and Newman's teammate in Kansas, Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk.

"When you build a team, you have to have pillars that you build on", Pelinka said.

"We're building a culture here, and (Wagner) brings a lot to the table", Walton said.

Oil prices rise as OPEC meets
A decision to increase output could be taken even with Iran refusing to sign up, as has happened before in OPEC. Riyadh has said it is ready "to mitigate the effects of any supply shortages" from USA sanctions on Iran's oil.

First, the Sixers have head coach Brett Brown, who has a history with Leonard.

For the Lakers, Thursday's draft had a very procedural feel.

After seeing how overmatched they were in the semifinals of the playoffs against the Boston Celtics, it was clear that Philadelphia is in desperate need of adding another star to play alongside Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.

The Lakers don't want to get into any trouble during this year's free agency period. The Lakers were the second-worst 3-point shooting team in the National Basketball Association last season. Wagner is known as an emotional player and leader, as MI advanced to the NCAA Championship Game with Wagner featuring as an offensive focal point throughout.

"I'm speechless", said Wagner, who fought back tears after being selected. "I am going to love it and leave it all out there [for the Lakers]".
