OnePlus 6 Red model with 8GB RAM & 128GB storage announced

Now, things are heating up for a red variant of the OnePlus 6.

The OnePlus 6 Red is described by company CEO Pete Lau as a "true representation of our values regarding product and industrial design", with a shade of red that's "passionate but with a level of visual restraint", as well as not too bright and therefore "visually burdensome".

The company is using a new film coating process that has never been attempted before in the smartphone industry, which is reminiscent of the film coatings the company has applied to the other color variants of the device. But, he added, this process has created a more durable and "elegant" red sheen that's expected to last "for years to come". As of now, the OnePlus comes in Midnight Black, Mirror Black, Karbon Black, Silk White, and Amber Red color options. The scarlet announcement of the cherry-cheeked phone has just landed, and next week you'll be able to order a vermilion-tinted version of the OnePlus 6 yourself.

Deciding on this color was not without its challenges. This special edition OnePlus 6 also received an evaporated layer of brightening film to give the device a glossy, transparent layer that helps to maintain its bright coating. We see individual colors as a way to express certain feelings or ideas.

Right on cue, OnePlus has taken the wraps off a new colour variant of the OnePlus 6. There is a kind of power in red, which the OnePlus logo has always tried to articulate.

OnePlus 6 Red has an amber-like effect at the back with an anti-reflective layer as well. "We hope you feel similarly empowered when you hold the OnePlus 6 Red this summer". The device will be costing Rs 39,999, same as the other 8GB + 128GB variants of the OnePlus.

It's also slated to become available "across the globe" next week, although we obviously don't know how long sales will run.
