Kevin Durant to sign 1+1 deal with Warriors

Kevin Durant to sign 1+1 deal with Warriors

The New York Times first reported Durant's intention to sign the deal.

There's no guarantee that Durant will sign that full-Bird-rights-empowered five-year deal - or that the Warriors will offer it - but it seems most likely that Durant will be a Warrior for the next six years, making a cool quarter of a billion dollars during that stretch. Key players like Paul George, Chris Paul, Lebron James, DeMarcus Cousins, Kevin Durant, and Nikola Jokic are some of the players that will make headlines in free agency this season? The only uncertainty: how many years would Durant commit to the Warriors and for how much? James agreed to a four-year deal worth $154 million, meaning his streak of eight consecutive Eastern Conference championships - four with Miami, four with the Cavs - will end next year. Therefore, the Warriors will save about $20 million in luxury taxes.

Durant's deal is expected to last two years and pay him around $30 million per season, the American broadcaster said. He holds an option, worth $31.5 million, for the second year, the report says. According to ESPN's Zach Lowe, that now includes three-time Sixth Man of the Year victor Jamal Crawford. "Sometimes you don't negotiate", he said days after winning the title.

The 38-year-old guard's statistics have dipped a bit over the last decade of his career. He did us a great service.

The Dallas Mavericks signed center DeAndre Jordan to a one-year deal worth $24.1 million. It might make him more money if he signs a long-term deal next summer instead, but could he have ulterior motives besides money? Plus, the Warriors should give him whatever he wants. He's earned that, to kind of lay out the terms.

He shot 65 on a par-72 course at the Players Championship in May, but apart from that had nothing better than 67 until Friday. Francesco Molinari and Billy Horschel are T-4 at 8 under, Zac Blair is alone in sixth at 7 under and Kevin Streelman, C.T.

Durant reportedly declined his player option for next season in mid-April and was an unrestricted free agent.

The Golden State Warriors and forward Kevin Durant have agreed to a two-year, $61.5M deal, per Shams Charania of Yahoo! He has also stated repeatedly he plans to re-sign with the Warriors.

"He wants to be here, of course", Kleiman told Bay Area News Group last month. Which of those players have been signed so far and by whom? In the meantime, the two-time Finals MVP is coming off another stellar season.

Kevin Durant looks to win more National Basketball Association titles with the Golden State Warriors. He erupted for 43 points in Game 3 of the series, which virtually took the fight out of Cleveland. He shot 41.5 percent from the floor overall and 33.1 percent from beyond the arc. "That was just for the media".

Oh, and they extended head coach Steve Kerr's deal, which didn't cost a dime of free-agent cash. Essentially, Durant is putting subliminal pressure on the Warriors again to spend the mid-level.
