'Avengers: Infinity War': Josh Brolin's Thanos Snap Ban Crashes Reddit Servers

If that number keeps climbing, which suggests that it will, this could be one of the biggest (if not the biggest) bans in Reddit history.

Thanos Did Nothing Wrong, which began as a meme repository devoted to the "Avengers: Infinity War" villain, has grown so rapidly in recent weeks that its subscribers began demanding that the moderators ban half of them in tribute to the world-destroying foe.

Avengers: Infinity War has played an important part in social media over the last few months. The Joe Russo Reddit account added a selfie-video from Thanos actor Josh Brolin's Instagram to the thread making the upcoming cull official. In order to recreate the effects of Thanos' snap during Infinity War, the subreddit chose to get perfectly balanced by getting half of their subscribers banned, removed, and wiped out from the community on Monday, July 9.

The primetime event is set for Monday and President Trump can expect a huge audience waiting to hear his choice. Thapar, who was born to parents from India, is not new to being interviewed by the President.

Since the Russo Brothers posted the video, which was shortly before 10 AM Pacific time, the initial tweet has gained over 4.6 thousand likes and it's been retweeted over 1,000 times. Infinity War is already 149 minutes long. Therefore, he was at least theoretically vulnerable to "the Snap", which reduced half of the MCU's characters to dust. That won't happen until next year when the maybe-still-untitled Avengers 4 hits theaters on May 3, 2019.

It seems Thanos' way of thinking is starting to take root. Jim Starlin, the dude who created Thanos, spoke to Collider during Comic-Con in Las Vegas and revealed about the possibility of an extra 30 minutes of footage that will be packed for the home video version of the film. It's not clear at what time the recreation of the Infinity War snap will take place, but make sure to have your Reddit notifications turned on to learn your fate. His motivation? To halve the serious strain overpopulation is exacting on the fictional universe, and bring balance to all things - as things should be.
