Watched by the Queen and senior members of the royal family from the balcony of Buckingham Palace, the spectacle drew awe and applause from the crowd below.

"The fact that Harry and Meghan have been asked by the Foreign Office to go to Ireland shows just how much faith the Queen has in both of them as working royals", Katie Nicholl, the author of Harry: Life, Loss, and Love, told ET of the trip.

Markle kept her accessories in the same color family with a simple black clutch and wore her hair down - a contrast from the prim and proper chignon she wore earlier at the 100th anniversary celebration for Britain's Royal Air Force and upon touching down at Dublin Airport.

The suit was by one of Duchess of Cambridge's favourite designers Alexander McQueen and was quite a bold choice for the then future royal.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex joined Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, Queen Elizabeth, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla at the RAF Centenary where they all attended a Royal Air Force Westminster Abbey service.

Prince William's blunder comes after his brother, Prince Harry, made a similar faux pas at the Commonwealth Youth Reception last week, when he and Meghan appeared to enjoy a private joke.

The royal couple will meet Irish President Michael Higgins and the head of government, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar on their first visit outside the United Kingdom since their wedding in May, the Irish Times reported.
