Serena Williams issues defiant statement of intent over Margaret Court record

Serena Williams has the chance to win a record-breaking 24th grand slam title after beating the German No 13 seed Julia Görges 6-2, 6-4 at Wimbledon to go into the final. She will also be returning to Wimbledon the following day with her husband Prince William to watch the Gentlemen's Singles Final on Centre Court.

Serena Williams longs to tell her daughter how she bound her longtime label, champion, with her newer one, mother.

In September 2017, she gave birth to her daughter Alexis Olympia, an experience which she later described as life-threatening and detailed complications she faced from a pulmonary embolism and a host of surgeries to prevent blood clots spreading to her lungs.

She will vie for her eighth Wimbledon title against German Angelique Kerber on Saturday in a repeat of the 2016 Wimbledon final, which Williams won in straight sets.

"It's insane. I don't even know how to feel because I literally didn't think I'd do this well in my fourth tournament back in 16 months", said the American, who won the 2017 Australian Open while in the early stages of her pregnancy. I had multiple surgeries and almost didn't make it when I gave birth. "For me it's such a pleasure and a joy because, you know, less than a year ago, I was going through so much stuff". "I literally didn't expect to do this well in my fourth tournament back in 16 months". "I remember I couldn't even walk to my mail box, so it's definitely not normal for me to be in a Wimbledon final".

'Fortnite' Season 5 is here with some big changes
The heavy shotgun now fires 10 pellets instead of 5, but the maximum damage of the weapon has been unchanged. It's not entirely clear, but it suggests that your Battle Pass tiers can now carry over to future seasons.

"Whatever happens, honestly, it's an incredible effort from me and just good motivation to keep going for the rest of our career", Williams said. With the match at 2-2, Williams kicked off a streak of five consecutive games won.

All of the time away pushed someone who's spent more than 300 weeks ranked No. 1 down the rankings - she began Wimbledon at 181st, but was seeded 25th on account of her past success - and no one could quite be sure how the American would fare over these two weeks.

The first two points played by Ostapenko - who won the French Open in 2017 and crashed out in the first round the following year - were emblematic of the match.

Her 35th Grand Slam semi quickly raced to a conclusion as Williams stepped on the gas, Goerges trying to mix things up but failing in her execution. There was one brief blip to come: Williams got broken for the only time while serving for the match at 5-3.
