Stormy Daniels arrested at strip club, charged with sex offenses

Michael Avenatti, the lawyer for adult film star Stormy Daniels, vowed to fight the "bogus charges" his client faces after she was apparently arrested early Thursday while performing at an OH strip club, in what he blasted as a "setup" that was "politically motivated".

"We will vehemently contest all charges", her lawyer Michael Avenatti tweeted, saying Daniels would plead not guilty to three misdemeanor charges. According to TMZ, the customer Daniels allowed to "motorboat" her turned out to be Columbus police officer Mary Prather.

Avenatti continued to call the incident a "ridiculous" and "absurd use of law enforcement resources". "There has to be higher priorities!"

Avenatti said the arrest was a politically-motivated "sting operation".

Four police officers in the audience at Sirens strip club in Columbus, Ohio nabbed her for allegedly violating Ohio's Community Defense Act. Early Thursday she remained in custody awaiting a determination of bail, Avenatti said. We also expect that she will be charged with a misdemeanor for allowing "touching".

OH passed a law in 2007 which prohibits patrons touching performers at a sexually-oriented business anywhere on the premises or in the parking lot, or a performer touching a patron.

Trump will get red carpet treatment in UK - and big protests
The Jameson in Hammersmith has rebranded itself The Trump Arms for the US President's visit. Trump is also expected to travel to Scotland, where he owns two golf courses.

Charles Murphy, a correctional service coordinator at the Franklin County Sheriffs' Office, confirmed Daniels was arrested by a Columbus police officer but said she hadn't been booked. The club, Sirens, advertised Daniel's appearance on Twitter ahead of Wednesday night's performance.

He added that Daniels meant to plead not guilty. A person who answered the phone at the club declined to comment. She is suing Trump and his former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, to void a hush agreement she says she signed during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Avenatti also shared a statement from Stormy herself in which she apologized for not being able to go on with a scheduled show for Thursday night in Columbus. Trump has forcefully denied the affair.

Daniels' attorney told NBC News there were multiple undercover vice officers in the club during her show and after the customer touched her, officers got up and arrested her on the spot.

"This was a complete set up", he said.

Through White House officials, Mr Trump has denied the affair, although Mr Cohen has admitted paying Daniels as part of the agreement.
